Schedule of Events for Reenactors - Sunday March 10, 2009 To Our Re-enactor Friends: The Glenview Park District, The Grove National Historical Landmark, 2nd Kentucky Cavalry, Co. D; First Michigan Engineers, Co. E, and the Army of the Cumberland would like to extend to you and your group an invitation to participate in the 19th annual “Battle in The Grove” held July 24,25&26, 2009 in Glenview, Illinois. All impressions are welcome. We hope to have registration forms linked here very quickly. Amenities for participation in event:
Due to construction of the new sound barrier along the IL Tollway, parking will be off site for all reenactors and Sutlers. All participants, family members, and civilian impressionists, must check in before continuing to their designated areas at the event. The usual amenities will apply, bounty for artillery, troops, and horses. Registration: Please return the enclosed registration form to us prior to the event. To receive amenities you must pre-register and sign waivers. Deadline for Sutlers is June 26th. All others are due July 15th, 2009. Registration hours will be; 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday night July 24; main driveway; 09:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday July 25; and 09:00 am to 11:00 am Sunday July 26; @ food area
Sutlers - (6) will be open first to those who attended in 2008, and then on a first come/first registered basis. There is a Sutler fee. Sutler registration & payment must be received by June 26th to be considered! Sutler registration forms have been included in your packet. Thanks again for your support of this event. Our continued growth depends on your strength and ability to educate our public in what it was really like to live, and die during the most important time period in our nations history. We want to make this year’s event special and stand ready to listen to any reasonable suggestions for improvement.
PLEASE, Glenview Park District rules prohibit dogs/pets on the grounds, and please do not bring firewood to the event.
